Historical evolution
There is the famous "Qingyunpu Taoist Temple" (i.e. "Bada Shanren Memorial Hall") in the area, from which the name of Qingyunpu District comes. Yue Shi, a scholar of the Song Dynasty, has already recorded in his "Taiping Huanyu Ji" that "Qingyun Pu is fifteen miles south of (Nanchang) City". In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the painter Zhu Da (Bada Shanren) lived in seclusion here and changed "Qingyunpu" to "Qingyunpu". In the 20th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1815), Dai Junyuan, the Minister of Rites, changed "pu" to "pu", which is the current name.
This place has successively belonged to Yuzhang County (Han Dynasty), Yishan County (Xinmang), Hongzhou (Tang to Northern Song Dynasty), Longxing Prefecture (Southern Song Dynasty, early Yuan Dynasty), Longxing Road (Yuan Dynasty), Nanchang Mansion (Ming and Qing Dynasties). During the Republic of China, it was directly under the jurisdiction of Yuzhang Road and provincial jurisdiction; and later it was under the First Administrative District of Jiangxi Province (including the 11th Administrative District from 1939 to 1941).

Qingyun Pu was formerly known as "Tai Chi Temple". It was founded by the Taoist Xu Xun of the Jin Dynasty and his disciple Huang Renlan at the former site of "Meixian Temple" The Taoist school founded the "Jingming" Taoist school, and in the first year of Jianxing of the Jin Dynasty (313), it controlled water in the Ganjiang and Fuhe areas. In the ninth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (589), Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty Yang Jian granted Wan Zhen, a native of Nanchang, the title of Heavenly Master, and renamed "Taiji Temple" to "Taiyi Temple". In the Song Dynasty, the name of Qingyunpu was recorded in the "Four Native Products of Jiangnan West Road" in Volume 16 of "Taiping Huanyu Ji" compiled by Yue Shi: "Qingyunpu is fifteen miles south of the city and produces a strange flower named Qilixiang." At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, Badashan people lived in seclusion here and changed "Qingyunpu" to "Qingyunpu". Later, Dai Junyuan, the Minister of Rites of the Qing Dynasty, changed "Qingyunpu" to "Qingyunpu".
