1. If you return to China within one month (inclusive), you should also submit an individual application for delaying your return to China as an attachment (indicating the reasons for delaying your return to China), and notify the applicant to book an air ticket after approval by the Education Office of the Consulate General.
2. If you postpone your return to China for more than one month, you need to apply 2 months in advance. The Education Office of the Consulate General shall notify the applicant of the approval result after reporting it to the Foundation Committee for approval. The required materials are as follows:
1) individual application form for deferred return to China (self-made format, indicating the reason, time, funding source and amount, and contact information);
2) Letter of consent from the domestic selection unit (official letter with document number). If funding is provided, the specific amount shall be stated;
3) Letter of consent from domestic tutor (if there is a tutor), and the specific amount should be stated if funding is provided;
4) Letter of consent from foreign tutors (official letter with contact information of tutors). If funding is provided, the specific amount shall be stated.
Those who extend the period shall provide proof of the source of funding during the extension period, and the average monthly funding amount shall not be lower than the national standard for studying abroad at public expense. Note: The maximum time limit for jointly training doctoral students to study abroad shall not exceed 24 months (including extension); The consent form of doctoral supervisor should indicate the expected time of obtaining the degree.
