There are more than 200 research institutions in the school, including 2 national collaborative innovation centers (leading units), 4 national key laboratories, 1 national engineering technology research center 1, 2 national and local joint engineering research centers, 3 national and local joint engineering laboratories, 1 national research institute 1, and a national innovation platform for integration of production and education. It has 5 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 3 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 5 field science observation and research stations of the Ministry of Education/KLOC-0 and 5 key research bases of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. Xiamen University National University Science Park is one of the only two national university science parks recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education in Fujian Province.
