After the credit card is activated, it is no problem for customers to apply for account cancellation immediately, and there is no time limit for card cancellation. However, if the annual fee is used or deducted after the card is opened, and the account still has bill arrears, it cannot be cancelled successfully. The customer must pay off all the debts and take out all the excess money in the card before canceling the card.
However, after the customer submits the application for credit card cancellation, the issuing bank generally does not immediately cancel the account for the customer. There is usually a 45-day settlement period to see if there will be new bills in the future. If there is no arrears or overpayment in the card after 45 days, the bank will officially cancel the card.
